Yesterday it was such a beautiful day, so my boyfriend invited me to go to the beach. We went with our dogs, to the Amoreira beach nearby the village Aljezur. This is my favorite beach, with its dunes, river, rocks and caves, I just love it!
Today I have been busy making these sweet potato pies (I don´t know how it´s called in inglish) for the very first time and they came out very well! It is a traditional portugese recipe and my favorite christmas pie. I´m so happy because they really came out well and they taste even better! It is fried dough with a mixture of sweet potato, cinnamon, fennel and sugar in the middle, then they are sprinkled with a mixture of sugar and cinnamon and then, yum yum, you can eat them.
Yesterday my friends Sara and Magda came and visit me. I hadn´t seen them for years! But now with the holiday season they were nearby so they decided to come and visit me. It was so good to be with them. We had some lovely snacks with tipical portuguese chouriço, cheese and this oh so good crab paté that my boyfriend made, accompanied with a "medronho" and red wine. We played a game of Scrabble, took crazy pictures and had a lot of fun. Thank you so much you crazy girls, that our friendship may last forever!
I was wondering on Bloglovin and found this oohh soo creative blog P.S. I made this. It is such a fun blog where you can find many cool and crazy ideas to make yourself. I just had to blog about it because I´m a crafty myself and for sure I´m gonna work out some of there ideas! You can see more here.
Isn´t this clutch a good idea? You can make it as you want, I´m gonna try it with thin leather or a nice fabric. And the hologram clutch is great to. I wanted to get one but now I will make it myself.
Yesterday I went to yoga and after yoga my teacher (who is a great friend of mine) asked me if I wanted to join her to do some Christmas shopping. Me, of course, said yes and so we went. It was a very well spended day together with my friend and we had a lot of fun. I got myself a new outfit to wear on Christmas day and it was so cheap! Imagine in January when it is sales, it is gonna be even more cheaper and I´m gonna get wild!!!
The dress is from Springfield and did cost me only €12.99 and the oohh soo lovely booties are from Primark and did cost me €24.
I had never entered Springfield because I always had this idea about it that it was for spoiled rich people, but I got it so wrong! They have got the most lovely petitte dresses and absolutely not expensive, definetly gonna go back there in January and buy the whole shop!
This saturday my boyfriend wanted to surprise me and took me to a rock concert with the band WAKO. He took me to see this band, because they have played some years ago on one of the rock festivals my boyfriend used to organize. They were really great and they even gave me a free, very cool t-shirt, wich I´ll show later in a new post.
Take a look at some cool pictures I took of them while there playing.
I´ve discovered this great artist Melissa Anne Carrol. She is strugling with cancer but she has the same dream as I have and that is going to India. She made some beautiful paintings (wich I adore!) inspired by India. Here is my favorite one but if you want to read and see more you can go to her blog here.
I´m so excited, because I´ve been doing a lot of crochet and making beanies and bags to sell for a coming christmas fair. It is a lot of fun to do. When I start a beanie, I´m already thinking of the result and of the color combination for the next beanie. It´s kind of adictive. Today I´m gonna start making a rainbow color bag, I´m quite excited because I think the result will look great. If you wan´t to buy one of my beanies, you can go to my Etsy page HERE.
The other day I received a package in the post from holland, from my dearrest mom, for the Sinterklaas celebrations. Today it is Sinterklaas his birthday, so whole Netherlands will be celebrating it!
Sinterklaas is a tipical dutch celebration for the kids (but adults love it to!). The kids before going to bed, put there shoe next to the fireplace. In the shoe there´s a wishlist of all of there favorite toys they want and a carrot or some straw inside it, and also a bowl of water for the horse of Sinterklaas. Then they sing a tipical Sinterklaas song and go to bed, imagining what they will get the next day and if they will get anything, because you´ll had to be good this year to get something! The next day the kids go and see if they got something, and normally there´s a little present like a chocolate letter of there name, or little chocolates and a little toy.
Then the 5th and 6th of December it is Sinterklaa´s his birthday, so on this day the whole family gets together and give presents to each other, specially to the kids. It is funny, because the tipical jute bag with the presents is left behind in front of the door where the family is celebrating. Somebody suddenly knocks on the door, this is suppose to be Sinterklaas (but normally it´s the neighboor), the kids get all excited and go and see if Sinterklaas is still there, so they open the door but nobody is there except for the big bag full of presents. I remember celebrating this with my family and it was always a lot of fun!
Tipical chocolate letters and the bag on the right is full with tipical "pepernoten", these are little spiced cookies.
Isn´t this chocolate letter just georgeos? It is the most beautiful letter I have ever received.
Look out! The chocolate mice are eating my chocolate letter!
The other day my boyfriend and me were walking around my village and we found the most cuttest shop with great things, such as semi-precious stones, tea pots, tea and coffee and this beautiful leather bag!
Today he came home from work and guess what!? He brought me the bag! Wauw how lucky am I!? I´m soooo pleased and in love with it, it is just beautiful and I´m gonna use it a lot!
