This guy has some real talent! He makes beautiful art work with cristals, gems and stones all together knotted with macramé.
I love it because I also am working really hard on a new collection necklaces macramé. Soon, when every thing is ready I´ll put them here in my shop.

My B-day cakes

This picture I found was taken by my friend Paulo on my birthday. I am holding here two lovely cakes I made. One with chocolate and the another one with Medronho. Medronho is a strong homemade liquer made of the little red medronho fruit. The cakes were so nice that they disapeared very quickly!

New necklaces!

I´ve been working realy hard on some new macramé necklaces. They are just gorgeous! I´m using colored waxed string and semi-precious stones. It takes me several hours to just make one, but the result makes me very happy! As soon I get the card reader I will be putting them in my shop!

Today – March 19 – features the closest full moon of 2011. Some are calling it a supermoon. As a result, you might look for higher-than-usual tides along the ocean coastlines throughout the world.
Because the moon – as always – shines opposite the sun in our sky at full moon, you’ll see the moon beaming all night tonight from dusk until dawn. This extra-close full moon is likely to usher in large tides along the ocean shorelines for the next several days, especially if these high tides are accompanied by strong onshore winds.
Why is this moon so close? The reason is that the 2011 March full moon falls on the same date as perigee – the moon’s closest point to Earth for the month. At perigee today, the moon lies only 356,575 kilometers (221,575 miles) away. Earlier this month, on March 6, the moon swung to apogee – its farthest point for the month. At that time, the moon was 406,583 kilometers (252,639 miles) distant.
March 19, 2011 presents the moon’s closest encounter with Earth since December 12, 2008. The moon won’t come this close again until November 14, 2016. The extra-close moon in all of these years – 2008, 2011 and 2016 – finds the full moon occurring on the same date as lunar perigee. More often than not, the closest perigee of the year comes on the day that the full moon and perigee coinicide.
How often does the full moon coincide with perigee? Closest full moons recur in cycles of 14 lunar (synodic) months, because 14 lunar months almost exactly equal 15 returns to perigee. A lunar month refers to the time period between successive full moons, a mean period of 29.53059 days. An anomalistic month refers to successive returns to perigee, a period of 27.55455 days. Hence:


14 x 29.53059 days = 413.428 days


15 x 27.55455 days = 413.318 days


This time period is equal to about 1 year, 1 month, and 18 days. The full moon and perigee will realign again on May 6, 2012, because the 14th full moon after today’s full moon will fall on that date.

It is just great to look at this full moon. I was observing it with my binoculars and could see it very well. It is so exciting!
I´ve also put my cristals at the moon light to clean them and give them new pure energy.

What a sunny day!

MMMMM today it is the first hot day, I´m realy enjoing it, it makes me so happy. I realy needed it, I have been a bit sad this winter, but since my birthday and since I´ve been visiting my dad and my friends in Évora things are getting brighter by each day :-)
I´m having new plans and that keeps me up.
MMMMMM I just love the sun!!!

Cristal Workshop

Monday I went to a workshop about cristals. It was realy great! The two dutch ladies who gave the workshop were so kind and calm, explaining every thing about cristals and how you should use them, how you can clean there energy by meditation, putting them under need the earth or just directly at the full moon light. It was a very special experience for me and it did do me very good. You can visit one of the ladies blog cavalo-de-vento.blogspot.com 
Soon I would like to make a page just about cristals also, but it will take a lot of work to photograf al of my cristals, so when I´m ready it will be great!

Suprise!

Last Saturday I surprised my daddy whose birthday it was. I only arrived in the middle of the night while he was sleeping, and he was very surprised but happy to see me and I was very happy to spend his birthday with him.
I did spend some good days in Monchique! Carnaval was a lot of fun also! Monday I got together with some friends and had some drinks at some nice bars in Monchique. There were a lot of people who were dressed up, it is a pity I didn´t have my photo camera, because there were some nice costumes. There were some guys dressed up as Lego man, it was so funny! I also got dressed up, but nothing special. I had my cute pink dress on, some nice make-up and a silver mask. ooooo I had so much fun!
Yesterday I surprised my best friend Raquel, it was also her birthday and she kind of suspected that I would come because I was always calling her boyfriend to combine with him picking me up from the bus in Évora.
She was so happy! I made her a lovely salmon lasagna and a chocolate cake, it was a great dinner with Casal Garcia bubbly white wine mmmmmm. After we played Monopoly until three o clock in the morning, just like in the old days!

Hangover

The party went on untill monday and still some friends are pasing by these days, having barbecues and the hangover from this injection of happines. Thank you all so much my dear friends for coming by! It made me so happy having you all here and receiving all of your love.
I had the biggest B-day cake full of cream, it was delicious, thank you Paulo and Solange!
Everything was great, the best party ever!
